Etisalat frequent Disconnection Problem

Frequent Disconnection Problem

1) Telephone service frequent disconnection

Problem Nature

There is no dial tone/ no incoming call/  no outgoing call/  noisy call/ noisy dial tone.

Solution

This kind of problem occurs if

=> Problem from Solution provider side
  • High signal loss: If ONT (optical network terminal) is receiving poor optical signal, such issue can occur. Field engineer must check power loss of the cable and take appropriate action (such as changing fast connector, changing fiber cable or changing/cleaning port at FDH side).
  • Electrical power: If the power adapter of the ONT is faulty or not proper according to ONT model, such issue can occur. Field engineer must check and change power adapter also.
  • Faulty device: If the ONT port or ONT itself is faulty, such issue can occur. Your solution provider should change the ONT free of cost if not damaged from your side.
 => Problem from customer side
  • Check the telephone wire and RJ11 connector. If the wire is not properly connected to the socket or to the telephone or to the ONT, you may experience frequent disconnection.
  • Check the condition of the telephone patch wire connected between ONT and the telephone socket, if wire is cut or open or damaged, you must change.
  • In many cases such problem is due to faulty wire connection inside the telephone socket.


2) Internet service frequent disconnection

Problem Nature

Your internet service is active for few minutes, hours or days, then suddenly there is no internet service.

Solution

This kind of problem occurs if

=> Problem from Solution Provider side
  • the ONT is receiving poor optical signal strength  from FDH (fiber distribution hub located at main telephone room). Such problem can be solved by changing the fiber optic fast connector (at ONT side and/or FDH side) and/or fiber cable. Note: You will see no lights or RED light in the ONT
  • there is high loss of optical signal from FDH itself, such problem can be resolved by maintaining the main splitter feeder and/or splitter port mapped to the ONT.
  • the power adapter of the ONT is faulty or not proper, so it can be resolved by changing the power adapter.
  • the ONT port or ONT itself is faulty, so it can be resolved by changing the ONT.
=> Problem from customer side
  • Check the CAT6 wire and RJ45 connector condition. If the wire is not properly connected to the socket or to the router/computer or to the ONT, you may experience frequent disconnection.
  • Check the condition of the CAT6 patch wire connected between ONT and the Internet socket or Router/computer (in case of dial up connection)
  • In many cases such problem is due to faulty wire connection inside the Internet socket.
  • If your router has 'WAN setting' set to 'Keep Alive' method as 'On Demand', you will experience the internet disconnection if you are not using internet for more than 5 minutes. Refer to the router manual or call 101 to change the router internal setting, i.e. changing the value of  'Keep Alive' option to 'Always on'.


3) IPTV service frequent disconnection


Problem Nature

Your e-vision or IPTV service is active for few minutes, hours or days, then suddenly TV shows an error message in the screen or the running TV program starts to freeze.

Solution

This kind of problem occurs if

=> Problem from Solution Provider side

  • the ONT (optical network terminal, i.e. main connection box) is receiving poor optical signal strength  from FDH (fiber distribution hub located at main telephone room). Such problem can be solved by changing the fiber optic fast connector (at ONT side and/or FDH side) and/or fiber cable. Note: You will see no lights or RED light in the ONT
  • there is high loss of optical signal from FDH itself, such problem can be resolved by maintaining the main splitter feeder and/or splitter port mapped to the ONT.
  • the power adapter of the ONT is faulty or not proper, so it can be resolved by changing the power adapter.
  • the ONT port or ONT itself is faulty, so it can be resolved by changing the ONT.
=> Problem from customer side
  • Check the CAT6 wire and RJ45 connector condition. If the wire is not properly connected to the socket or to the IPTV receiver or to the ONT, you may experience frequent disconnection.
  • Check the condition of the CAT6 patch wire connected between ONT and the TV socket or IPTV receiver
  • In many cases such problem is due to faulty wire connection inside the TV socket.
  • In worst case, such problem is due to faulty IPTV receiver or faulty parameters for ONT port.

 4) Frequent Disconnection of all services Telephone, Internet and E - Vision / IPTV

Problem Nature 

All the services is active for few minutes, hours or days, then suddenly there is error message in the screen or the running TV program freezes.

Solution

This kind of problem is occurred if

=> Problem from Solution Provider side

  • the ONT (optical network terminal, i.e. main connection box) is receiving poor optical signal strength  from FDH (fiber distribution hub located at main telephone room). Such problem can be solved by changing the fiber optic fast connector (at ONT side and/or FDH side) and/or fiber cable. Note: You will see no lights or RED light in the ONT

  4. Hi, I have etisalats aztech DSL605EW router.
    In basic settings I can see that VLAN id is 0, I just have Internet connection only from etisalat.
    How can I configure my new dlink dir850l router? I bought it from outside, please help.
